Many educational institutes are making a beeline to offer courses on blockchain technology, trying to cash in on its growing popularity and importance. Many well-known universities are offering courses on blockchain, lending support to the tech and trying to educate students about the revolutionary innovation by establishing blockchain powered campuses.
One such university that is pioneering blockchain education in its country is the Bahçeşehir University (BAU) of Turkey. Having already opened a blockchain center, BlockchainIST, in their own campus in Turkey, which made them the first Turkish University to do so, BAU has now established its second blockchain education center at Boston in collaboration with Northeastern University (NEU), as reported by Daily Sabah.
The Aim Behind the Collaboration
The university plans to fulfill a dual objective with this initiative- help its American counterpart with informational data on blockchain and raise funds in America, Turkey and the European Union, which in turn would help Turkey mark its presence on the global blockchain map. The country’s interest in the sector is also expected to bring in blockchain enthusiasts to its shores.
Speaking on the matter, Enver Yücel, the head of the Board of Trustees at BAU expressed his excitement on the NEU collaboration which he hopes would help them learn and perfect the sector. He also applauded the Turkish Exporter’s Assembly (TİM) for their efforts in infusing Turkish universities with the latest of technologies and making sure that the nation is in no way behind in the blockchain industry. Moreover, he expressed a desire to begin master and doctoral courses on blockchain with the help of TIM. Meanwhile, NEU has also stated that they are quite thrilled with the BAU collaboration as it is in keeping with their aim “to give the ability to consume less energy to the internet of the future and ensure the wireless communication of objects and people.”
