Glory has become the first professional sports league to integrate Litecoin into the end-to-end fan experience with Litecoin accepted as a payment method on their online merchandise platform, Gloryshop. Fans across the US and Europe will be able to use Litecoin to access exclusive offers such as athlete meet-and-greets, backstage tours, limited edition merchandise and premium seating which will only be available at Gloryshop.
Litecoin will benefit from global exposure across Glory events, social media and broadcasts. The press release states that these kinds of partnerships are opportunities to “tap into passionate audiences around the globe and educate them on the power of Litecoin”.
Younger Demographic Are Early Adopters Of Technology
Charlie Lee, Litecoin founder, recently said: “Glory has a growing worldwide fan base that consists in large part of a younger demographic who are early adopters of technology and conduct much of their lives online, from consuming content to purchasing products. As Glory continues to grow, tapping into their global audience and educating them about Litecoin through real world use cases can be powerful”.
Glory hosts global events throughout the year, with media distribution to over 200 territories across the world. It’s where “elite fighters compete and sports fans connect with their heroes and the sport they love”. Those elite fighters include top kickboxing heavyweights, Rico Verhoeven, aka “The King of Kickboxing” and Jamal Ben Saddik, aka “The Goliath”.
The kickboxing league was founded in 2012 and is operated by Glory Sports International. A mix of combat disciplines are hosted, including karate, Muay Thai, boxing and Taekwondo.
“A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for Glory and our fans as we put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world,” said Glory CEO, Marshall Zelaznik.
